After an amazing run of 23 years, Unitress salon will be closing its doors on October 1, 2011. The stylists you have grown to know and love are excited to continue their work at Andreas Hogue Salon at 840K Waukegan Rd (on the border of Glenview and Northbrook) at the bustling Willow Festival Shopping Center. The new location is only a short 4 miles from Unitress and features the latest and greatest in salon and spa technology. When you visit the mall, you may also enjoy shopping at Whole Foods, REI, Homegoods, or Lenscrafters; or grabbing a drive-thru Starbucks, or enjoying one of the many great restaurants on site including Potbelly, Roti, or Zapatista. Plenty of parking is conveniently located right outside the front doors of the salon. 

Like Unitress, Andreas Hogue Salon is a full-service salon featuring the best in hair, nails, facials, and massage. The following high-quality products are carried in the salon: Aveda, Matrix, Pureology, Paul Mitchell, Elina Organics, OPI, Essie, and Mirabella.

4/10/2010 I've gotten a haircut from Jeff and an updo style from Cynthia (which I absolutely LOVED!).  Both were great experiences because they are fun and talkative people.  All the employees here seem to thoroughly enjoy being there.  I've come here on weekends, and it is always lively, and there seems to be many regulars who come in to get services done and chat with their longtime stylists/friends.  It feels like what I think a barbershop atmosphere would be like but with more women than men.  They serve water, coffee, tea, and cookies in the waiting area.

3/29/2010 I've been getting my hair cut here for almost 20 years - Never have I been disappointed. The staff is incredibly friendly and experienced, the environment feels warm and inviting, and the second you sit down you are greeted with hospitality and courtesy as if you were direct family. In the mood for a warm drink and figured you'd have to make a trip to Starbucks afterwards? Well, before you even finish that thought you'll be offered something to your liking. Without a doubt, you'll be taken back at their level of service. Even getting your hair washed - which is often a rather distant aspect of your average salon experience - is so enjoyable here you'd almost prefer not to get up for your actual hair cut. Above all else, they're a fully equipped salon, completely prepared for any of your needs, and will always treat you respectfully and with a smile. You will NOT be disappointed with the results of your trip.

12-8-2009 "There is no substitute"  If you want the highest of quality of service this is the place to be.  Best salon in the country.  They have everything you would ever want in a salon.  The place is very hip and it has a very cool staff with an exciting environment.  The staff treats you like family and when you come here once you will not go anywhere else.  Very clean place prices are fair and you can come in get a hair style, massage and purchase hair care products.  I would not go anywhere else.

7/21/2009 They are amazing. Hilary  is great, she is extremely friendly, very professional and is really great at what she does. She has been cutting my hair for almost a year and I wouldn't think about going anywhere else. I came to her in need of a change and although it was not drastic she knew the exact cut that would look great on me. She knows exactly what I want and how to style my hair just perfect. She has even taken time out afterwards to give me some new styles and techniques to try.  They are all very friendly and professional and the salon is always clean. I travel about 30- 40 minutes each way to go there and I will continue to do so, their prices are reasonable for the services provided. I Highly recommend trying it out.

5/16/2008 I have gone to Unitress for many years and watched them grow - their staff is inviting and knowledgeable - I have had the same stylist for hair and my color and would not switch "Carla" is the best has a large following so make your appointments ahead - I get many compliments even after all these years with the same stylist - she keeps me trendy and up to date with my cut and color - she answers all my questions and is easy and great to work with!
